We operate five businesses and six stores related to interior design shops in Okinawa.
We are developing a wide range of services to meet various needs such as home furnishings business,
corporate business, furniture recycling business, welfare equipment sales business, and logistics business.
Okinawa is the unique southernmost monument of Japan, a prefecture that is an isolated island belonging to a subtropical area. It’s a place overflowing with unique history and culture different from any other area of Japan. People from throughout Japan who have been bewitched by this unique region are gathered here.
We have been doing business in Okinawa with furniture and interior design factories and manufacturers in Asia, Europe, and North America since 1980.
Ohkawa Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Okinawa City, Okinawa Prefecture; Chairperson: Koichi Hokama) is pleased to announce that, at the Board of Directors meeting held on August 27, 2025, it resolved a change in the CEO and the establishment of a new executive structure, as outlined below.
Mr. Koichi Hokama has stepped down as CEO and assumed the role of Chairperson. During his tenure as CEO, he led the company with flexibility in response to changing times and worked alongside employees to strengthen the foundation of our business. As Chairperson, he will continue to oversee the company’s management and devote himself to supporting and nurturing the next generation of leaders.
Ms. Ichiko Hokama has been appointed as the new CEO. Throughout her career, she has been dedicated to organizational reform and human resource development, while striving to achieve both the succession and innovation of corporate culture. She previously served as COO. Her initiatives have been widely recognized and warmly supported by stakeholders both inside and outside the company.
With changes in directors’ positions and the appointment of new Executive Officers, the company will operate under a renewed management structure. Together with all directors and employees, we remain committed to our mission of “continuously creating enriched lifestyles” and will make further efforts to achieve sustainable growth.
