From furniture to home fashion and home furnishing

Today, simultaneous with changes in our living environment, changes in human consciousness are occurring on a grand scale. The furniture and equipment necessary for life--such as beds, tableware and storage--have progressively become recognized as more than items fulfilling respective roles. In the midst of an era when creating a home requires thinking about one the total balance and coordination of one's living environment, from interior fashion to taking meals, we re-opened our store “maxplus” in 2006.
Incorporating design into living spaces
Taking this as a key phrase for the future way of living, we have developed household goods with high design characteristics. We have supported a wide range of customers, and looking ahead we feel that this has been immensely important, when considered from the perspective of our future business. From now on, continuing our efforts to create a range of goods for living spaces, we intend to work vigorously towards our aim to eventually be an enterprise producing total living spaces.


The Challenge of Offering "Affluence of Area"

Since a living space is an extremely important place where one spends a lot of time, items that suit each person's tastes are necessary. With that thought in mind we are advancing with the development of stores suited to various lifestyles. Rather than a set of uniform nationwide chain stores, we are developing stores that value the voice of minority groups -- that is the shape of our "independent model retail business." It is from this independent way of thinking that we feel we can offer the kind of store that is able to support an abundance of individual tastes.


2008 Okawa Corporation Store Grand Opening

We are currently taking steps toward a large scale store grand opening in the summer of 2008. This store will become the largest shopping area specializing in interiors in the prefecture. Giving consideration to those who want to enjoy shopping suited to their individual lifestyles, we are not a glorified large scale furniture store; rather we handle an extensive range of merchandise that goes so far as to include sundries for the fine details, such as aromatherapy and stationary. In the near future visitors to Okinawa from other prefectures will say "Not just Okinawan scenery, but also Okinawan homes are beautiful." Behind that, we want to put all our hearts into coming forward to create the kind of store that makes that beauty possible.

1. Home Furnishings
We operate three home furnishing stores in Okinawa, Japan, holding forth a vision to "offer affluent living suited to individual lifestyles." We operate "maxplus" in Naha city,and "Furniture To Go O!K" in Okinawa city, where we sell a wide range of interior goods and support customers from all over the prefecture.

2. Space Design
Additionally, we perform the development of original furniture and total planning for interior design in commercial spaces such as hotels and model unit apartment in Okinawa. We have a particularly established reputation for what we've done with southern resort style interiors, and have offered proposals for a large number of resort hotels within the prefecture.

3. Food Service
For a "food" culture derived from interiors, we operate the restaurant Cafe & Living Room Bar Uchi Yukui. We offer drinks, spirits, and meals making use of Okinawan ingredients in a comfortable interior in the Ryukyu color and style. We serve a wide range of customers, from locals to tourists.
